Island Transit is the public transportation provider for the City of Galveston portion of the Galveston-Texas City Urbanized Area. Transportation service is provided within the city limits of Galveston and on Galveston Island. Currently, Island Transit operates Fixed Route Service, ADA Complementary Paratransit Service, a Seawall Tourist Route, and a Street Rail Trolley Service. Fixed Route and ADA Services are federally funded and operate Monday through Saturday, with the ADA Service contracted through Harris County Rides. The Seawall Tourist Route and the Street Rail Trolley Services are funded through HOT Tax and have different service hours during the peak season and the off season.
